STAINLESS STEEL RISERS WITH DRY HARDCOAT INSULATION
Our stainless steel risers with hardcoat insulation are designed and manufactured with quality, reliability and accessibility to engine in mind.
Exhaust Flange:
Our 316 stainless steel flanges are serrated whenever possible to assure proper sealing of the exhaust gasket. When properly installed, it is extremely difficult to have an exhaust leak at the flange connection. The exhaust gases are contained by the multiple sealing serrated area of the flange surface.
Gaskets are provided with the exhaust system.
Exhaust Elbows and pipe:
Our 316 stainless steel elbows and pipe are specifically manufactured to Marine Exhaust Systems specifications and are not available in the market place as a stocking item. We stock a large inventory of both our elbows and pipes in order to assure adequate supply.
Electro-polished stainless steel:
All of our stainless steel products are electro-polished as a standard procedure. Electro-polishing provides a bright finish to the surface enhancing the products appearance. Electro-polishing provides an even greater corrosion resistance to the material surface.
Hardcoat Insulation:
We introduced our hardcoat insulation in 1991. Others have tried to copy our proprietary hardcoat insulation process one of our most valued trade secrets perfected through decades of research and product enhancements. While other systems may look similar, none produce the same long lasting performance and durability that we perfected and our customers know they can rely on.
Special “rings” are placed on the dry section piping to support the hardcoat insulation and help seal out any intrusions of multiple liquid substances.
Our hardcoat insulation does not interfere with exhaust pipe support bracket area. Exhaust pipe supports are quick and easy to install.
With proper care, hardcoat insulation will provide many years of reliable service. We know this since we have been producing and perfecting this insulating system for over 10 years!
Removable covers and improperly installed insulation will "powder out" - leaving the engine to ingest this insulation. "Powdering out" also leaves the hot exhaust pipe uninsulated, especially on the upper sections where most heat occurs. Liquid substances are easily absorbed into the soft cover system rendering them ineffective and possibly hazardous. The service life of these types of insulation products may fall short of expectations. However, due to specific item demand, we continue to manufacture removable engine turbo and turbo arm covers as well as other covers where heat shielding is required.
Proprietary Down Line Water Injectors:
Our down line water injectors (also known as watercans), are designed and flow tested to meet cooling requirements for each engine application at our test facility. Our patented cooling process not only cools the inner wall surface of the exhaust pipe- but cools the inner core gas as well. This
eliminates hot sections in the exhaust piping any place after the cooling water has been injected. Our water injectors are extremely efficient and do their job very quickly providing the industry with the best exhaust gas cooling.
Our water injectors are coated on the inside surface to protect the stainless steel from the harmful effects of exhaust gas byproducts/salt water combination.
Dry Hardcoat Risers vs Water-Cooled Risers:
In 1991, Marine Exhaust Systems had developed and began marketing the hardcoat insulation systems for exhaust pipes used in pleasure boats. By 1995, the dry exhaust pipe with hardcoat insulation had proven so reliable, that Marine Exhaust Systems strongly encouraged our customers to use the hardcoat system instead of the water-jacketed/water-cooled system. Regardless of the materials used, water-cooled risers will eventually leak. The unfortunate situation is an internal leak can go undetected until engine damage is observed. In 1997, Marine Exhaust Systems totally discontinued fabricating water-cooled risers. We wanted to supply our customers with an extremely reliable product that not only reduced replacement costs, but better protected the engine from water damage. Marine Exhaust Systems makes every attempt to replace water-cooled exhaust elbows with dry hardcoated elbows.
CROSSOVER EXHAUST RISERS
| Allow greater access directly behind the engine/marine gear area. |
|
| Creates greater access for service (mechanics love it!) |
|
| Enhances the visual appearance of the engine room. |
|
| Allows the engine to be installed more aft. |
|
| Easily removed and reinstalled when servicing other equipment in the engine room. | |
| Smaller exhaust pipe size when compared to an exhaust collector. |
MARINE EXHAUST SYSTEMS INC. IS THE ONLY EXHAUST MANUFACTURER THAT DESIGNS AND FABRICATES BOTH STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST PIPE(S) AND FIBERGLASS COMPONENTS - SUPPLYING A TOTAL "TURBO TO TRANSOM®" OR "TURBO TO UNDERWATER DISCHARGE" EXHAUST PACKAGES.
