Our families of stainless steel and fiberglass muffler products boast numerous patents. These patented technologies are a direct result of developing the industry’s best solutions for our customers – not only for exhaust gas cooling, reducing noise and vibration, but also for solving challenging installation issues
brought about by the ever-changing constraints of engine room configurations with limited access.
Many of our products are protected by one or more U.S. patents, including the following:

On April 21, 2010, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida found that DeAngelo Marine Exhaust willfully infringed on two of Marine Exhaust Systems, Inc.'s US patents and that these patents are valid and enforceable. The court also awarded Marine Exhaust $92,804 in damages and agreed to consider additional losses, as well as possibly tripling the final amount.
"We're very pleased with the court's decision," said Marine Exhaust VP Sheila Prieschl. "This is a vindication of inventor Woodrow Woods' hard work and innovation, as well as our intellectual property rights. We will continue to bring pioneering solutions to the design, production and service of marine diesel exhaust components."
DeAngelo Marine Exhaust infringed on Marine Exhaust's US Patents 5,740,670 and 6,035,633 for water-jacketed exhaust pipes for marine exhaust systems. Woodrow Woods advanced the art and science of marine exhaust systems by inventing and perfecting an exhaust component that addressed the overheating and water migration problems plaguing the marine industry.
